MBFWA 2014 - DANIEL K

This will be our final post on MBFWA 2014 and what better way to finish than to share a show that Mino himself designed in collaboration with Vanessa Kim, owner of the brand Daniel K. It was one of the last shows of the week and anticipation was running high as the other three of us had only seen glimpses of what was to come. We loved what we saw: simple, feminine and most importantly, wearable. We are all very proud of Mino for what he created so take a look at the photos below and if you would like to see a video of the show, click here.

MBFWA 2014 - ZHIVAGO

Presented in a dark neon-lit warehouse space offsite, the Zhivago collection at MBFWA 2014 featured form-fitting silhouettes with a futuristic twist. Check out more of what we saw at the show below.

LAURA

We love seeing awesome outfits put together entirely from pre-loved or thrifted pieces pieces. Laura's hat, pants and fantastic organza-sleeved top were all vintage pieces. She added just a bit of colour with a pair of patent leather orange Dr. Martens.

FOUREYES ON LUXOTTICA S/S 14/15

Yesterday we attended the Luxottica Spring/Summer 14/15 Eyewear Collections preview at the beautiful Mantells on the Water and it was exciting to see new styles from a few of our favourite brands that will be out in time for next summer. Here are some of our favourite pairs which will be available at Sunglass Hut New Zealand.

MITCH

We liked Mitch's black outfit accented with gold details. He wore an Adidas jacket over a long coat by Alistair Trung. His leather shorts were by Saxony and gold trainers by Supra. The patterned shirt was vintage Roberto Cavalli.

PETTA

Petta's top and skirt were both vintage pieces. We loved the delicate gold-embellishments on her skirt and the oversized wool jumper (perfect for the current freezing conditions in Auckland).

SARA

Sara's rad leather jacket was by Proenza Schouler. Underneath, she wore a top by Scanlan Theodore and skirt by Michael Lo Sordo. Her incredible shoes were by Balmain and her bag was Saint Laurent.

OLIVIA

Olivia's simple monochrome look was accented by full-on jewellery. Her extravagant necklace was by Swarovski. We loved the asymmetric cutout on her skirt and her Proenza Schouler PS11 wallet.

FOUREYES ON THIS WEEK #10

ALEX - This week, we each ordered a pair of sunglasses from www.clearly.co.nz and it couldn't have been easier. They have a great selection, a very user-friendly website and I can't wait to see my purchase. More on this later.

CHIN - I'm thankful for the cooler weather. It's allowed me to look in that section of my wardrobe I've ignored for too long. Knitted from an Eighties Vogue knitting pattern, I rediscovered this gem of a woollen jumper given to me a couple of years ago by a friend.

DANNY - My workplace currently has this 20 kilo wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano sitting in the fridge. Just because my work decided that a 20 kilo wheel of cheese was a very good thing to have. You know, for just in case. I think the pit we've made in it so far is adequate evidence of a good week.

MINO - 3-day weekends are the best. I had the perfect end to the week in Matarangi in the Coromandel with 11 of my closest friends. We ate (a lot), drank (a lot), laughed (a lot), played board games (it got pretty competitive -you know who you are…), and just walked along the beach enjoying the fresh air and good company. Does it really have to be Monday tomorrow?

ALISON

We thought Alison looked simple yet chic in this all black look with shoes by Gianvito Rossi that added a pop of colour. Her sheer top is by Alpha60, her cropped top is by Kirrily Johnston and her clutch by Comme des Garçons.

TALIA

We thought Talia looked stunning in this black and white jacket by Marcs, belt by Peter Lang, Khalo skirt and Givenchy clutch.

MBFWA 2014 - SONG FOR THE MUTE

The closing show, and easily one of the most atmospheric of MBFWA this year, Song for the Mute transformed the venue into a dramatic, dark space. A single stream of mist descending into the room at the top of the glossy black runway served to heighten anticipation as the guests were seated. The soundtrack of the show, consisting of base-heavy booms, electrified and shook the whole room. Male models with white painted hair showcased the black, white and grey collection. The layered looks were structured but also relaxed, with a good dose of street and sport injected into them. Fabrics were rich and textural. The show, presented by one of our favourite menswear stores in Sydney, Harrolds, closed with Lupe Fiasco walking the final look. Check out the collection after the jump.

DASHA

It was the graphic print on this Nicola Finetti dress that caught our eyes. Dasha's shoes are by Alias Mae and her jewellery is from Lovisa.

MBFWA 2014 - AE'LKEMI

Perth label, Ae'lkemi, showed their Spring/Summer 14/15 collection at MBFWA this year. With plenty of sumptuous textures, sheer fabrics and streamlined silhouettes, the show featured a mix of luxurious embellishments with simple, sexy cuts. This year Ae'lkemi also collaborated with jewellery designer, Samantha Wills on suitably lavish jewellery to accompany the looks. See what we saw after the jump.

TIM

We had the pleasure of meeting Tim from Timomatic in Sydney last month and we thought his casual style was just as much of a stand out as his music. His t-shirt is by Rick Owens, his jacket and pants are by Claude Maus and his blazer is by Last Kings. The sunnies are from his own range and his shoes are by Windsor Smith.

FLEUR

We thought Fleur looked absolutely incredible in black and gold look by sass & bide. Her earrings are by Peter Lang. We also shot Fleur at around the same time last year.
