NZFW 2014 - LELA JACOBS

We were happy to see Lela Jacobs back at New Zealand Fashion Week this year as her show last year was one of our absolute favourites of the week. This collection, entitled Post Dystopian, was once again presented in an atmospheric, slowly paced and polished show. Richly textured fabrics, layering and fine craft work combined with a beautifully raw edge. Also, how ace is that hair and makeup? See what we saw after the jump.

JOE

We loved how the individual dark elements came together to create Joe's moody look. His awesome long shirt was by Lela Jacobs. Joe designed and made the shorts himself. The black pocketed tote was by Chris Duncan. The Company of Strangers satchel was patched from vintage leather jackets. His shoes were by Rick Owens. His rings were a mix of Underground Sundae, Welfe and his own designs.

NZFW 2013 - A.O.K. LELA JACOBS

Lela Jacobs followed Maaike at the A.O.K. show last Saturday with one of the most beautiful collections at NZFW. The monochromatic range entitled Yugen featured looks in black, white and a stunning grey digital print that reminded us of marble rock. We loved the dramatic collection for its androgyny, interesting silhouettes and beautiful fabrics. The looks in our photos are available now at The Keep.

VANESSA

Vanessa wore some striking accessories against her all-black outfit. Her cardigan top was by Lela Jacobs and her pants were by Storm. The stunning long black necklace was from Zambesi, chunky bangles were by Dinosaur Designs and Brooklyn Bridge ring by Noir Jewelry. Her clutch was by Topshop. We really liked the stark white laces and contrast stitching of her Dr. Martens boots.

NZFW 2013 - LELA JACOBS

Lela Jacobs presented her new collection, entitled 'de' at her debut New Zealand Fashion Week show yesterday. One of the highlights of day one, it was a beautiful and theatrical presentation with models slowly walking to live music provided by Tzar Behemoth. Predominantly black, the collection focused on rich textures and layering, with artful styling creating a truly moving experience as a whole. Check out more of what we saw after the jump.

KENNETH

It was the beautiful texture of Kenneth's Lela Jacobs top that initially got our attention. The delicate fabric was in stark contrast to the hardy material of his camo rain cape from Kiwi Disposals and the rubber of his Skellerup boots. His bag was by Eastpak.

CHRIS

We thought Chris' long mesh tunic, which he made himself, added an interesting touch to his relaxed look.  He got the vest from Kiwi Disposals and his pants were by Lela Jacobs. His shoes were by Ann Demeulemeester and sunnies by Cutler and Gross.

FOUREYES ON LELA JACOBS

Last night, we went to the opening of Lela Jacobs' flagship store, The Keep, and the launch of the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, Manifesto of Uncertainty. The Karangahape Road store's aesthetic has been shaped by Lela herself. Her unique perspective can be seen in the way the lights are hung lower than usual and the clothing racks placed higher than the norm. Dotted around the space are beautiful objects that are detailed, rare and have clearly been carefully crafted, much like the collection itself. Click through to see what caught our eye last night.

We also photographed Lela when we ran into her earlier in the year - check out her photos here.

LELA

The first thing we noticed about designer Lela Jacobs was her fiery red hair. The movement of her clothes in the wind was the next thing that caught our eye. Known for her use of monochromatic colour palettes and textural layering, Lela's designs are beautifully and unique. Her top and pants were from her summer collection, entitled 'Echoes of Awe'. Her beautiful leather bag is from her 'This Crooked Way' collection. The feather necklace is part of a collaboration with Jasmin Sparrow for this coming winter collection. Her rings were from Wunderkammer and the striking handmade shoes were from Tokyo.
