Alex Catarinella, freelance writer on all things fashion, music and culture, attended New Zealand Fashion Week this year. Alex rocked this Stolen Girlfriends Club jacket, t-shirt and pants (which he told us were some of the most comfortable he has ever worn). His cool cuff is by Chris Habana and shoes by Underground. Alex has written for the likes of MTV Style, Dazed & Confused, Elle, Paper, Wonderland and i-D. Check out what he had to say about his experience at New Zealand Fashion Week here.

NZFW 2013 - DANIEL K
Daniel K presented their latest collection at NZFW on Thursday. Our very own Mino was asked to do the styling for the show and we think he did a rad job of it. There was a feeling of fluidity that ran through the collection and we particularly liked the liquid print on the first few looks. We thought there was a quiet sophistication to the range with the elegant jumpsuits, use of spotted fabrics and the over-sized knits. Check out our photos from backstage and the runway, as well as the video of the final walk through after the jump.

NZFW 2013 - WESTPAC YOUNG FASHION DESIGNER COMPETITION
Last night we attended the Westpac Red Collection at New Zealand Fashion Week, which began with the pieces from this year's Westpac Young Fashion Designer Competition finalists. The three finalists, Georgie Veitch, Matt Hickmott and Zoey Radford Scott, each presented three looks before the winner was announced. Congratulations to all the finalists and particularly to Georgie Veitch who scooped the prize for her beautifully clean, over-sized menswear pieces, seen above. Click through below to check out all our backstage and runway shots from the night.

NZFW 2013 - TRELISE COOPER
Trelise Cooper put on another big production this year at NZFW. The first half of the show began with the showing of Cooper's winter 2014 range. Teased ponytails and facial peircings were to be found on the models in this part of the show. The standout looks for us were those featuring tartan and also those with long vertical stripes inspired by vintage ties. There was also a pair of studded pants and a studded bomber jacket that looked stunning on the catwalk.
The second half of the show was dedicated to Trelise's core label Trelise Cooper and began with a giant teepee dropping from the ceiling to the middle of the runway. Models sported a high beehive hairdo, echoing the stage set. With the use of embroidery, beading and embossed fabrics, the looks were detailed and luxurious. The standout looks were a shiny gold dress and an all-black outfit with a beautiful fur dress.

NZFW 2013 - ZAMBESI
The Zambesi show began dramatically with the back wall parting to reveal the backstage. The audience watched the models go through final checks as they prepared to walk down the catwalk. On cue, each model took off wearing a look from this beautiful collection. We particularly loved the translucent blue pieces, the long coats and the looks with the organza panels. Check out these looks after the jump.

NZFW 2013 - COMPANY OF STRANGERS
The Company of Strangers show at New Zealand Fashion Week took place in a carpark until the Sofitel, which was the perfect backdrop to a collection entitled 'Libertine'. The collection was daring and dark but at the same time fun and feminine. This Autumn/Winter 2014 collection draws inspiration from the paintings and drawings of Austrian expressionist, Egon Schiele. Take a look at some of our favourite looks from the show.
