NZFW 2014 - KATE SYLVESTER

Maybe our favourite show of the New Zealand Fashion Week 2014, Kate Sylvester's Autumn Winter 2015 collection "Tartt" drew on inspiration from author Donna Tartt and was beautiful display of how the Kate Sylvester brand put it themselves, "a slouchy celebration of casual luxury and sartorial classics". FOUREYES ON SYLVESTER AT THE MARR FACTORY

The Marr Factory shows generally focus on in-season clothes that guests at the shows can go out and buy the very next day. So, it was a bit of a treat for Kate Sylvester to show a preview of her AW15 Sylvester range, due to hit stores next year, at The Golden Dawn last night. We loved it. Heavy lumberjack references created a really nice masculine/feminine mix and as always with Kate Sylvester, everything just looked so darn well made and beautiful. Plus there were chainsaws. Rad. FOUREYES ON KATE SYLVESTER A/W 2014

Kate Sylvester showed her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection entitled Two Friends at a show in her Britomart store last week. It was a joint event also celebrating the launch of Smoke & Mirrors, a beautiful photographic book by Karen Inderbitzen-Waller and Delphine Avril Planqueel. See what we saw after the jump.

FOUREYES ON KATE SYLVESTER AT THE MARR FACTORY

Kate Sylvester concluded The Marr Factory series last night. We first shot this collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia in April (see here) but we loved how fun this showing was with the models playing Marilyn Monroe-style on a podium with built-in fan. Seeing the clothes up close again reminded us of how well-constructed Kate Sylvester's clothes are. Check out our shots from last night after the jump.

NATALIE

Natalie paired different textures in this outfit composing of a Kate Sylvester sweater, leather skirt by Bec & Bridge (similar here) and heels by Acne. Her bag is by Prada and her cool striped sunnies are by Dolce & Gabbana (similar here).

CONNIE

Connie looked awesome in this colourful and quirky combination. Her bright yellow raincoat is from ASOS, her beautiful top is from Kate Sylvester and her shorts are by Karen Walker. Her cool boots are by Chloé.

Danny wears Kate Sylvester Foxy Fox jumper, Graz sunglasses, I Love Billy shoes and Black Box clutch.

Chin wears Karen Walker top, H&H shorts from The Warehouse, customised Commando-M shoes and  self-made beanie.

Mino wears Margiela shirt with Damir Doma vest, Country Road pants, Blue Blank bag, Nick Von K rings (right hand) and Karen Walker sunglasses.

Alex wears American Apparel shirt, dsquared2 bow tie, self-made vest, Zara pants, Topman shoes and hat by Marmalade Hats.

MBFWA - KATE SYLVESTER

Kate Sylvester's Spring/Summer 2013/14 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, entitled The Last Sitting began with a dramatic light display from a lighting rig at the start of the catwalk. The collection was inspired by the bittersweet life of Marilyn Monroe and featured references to 1950's American pop culture including fantastic baseball-style stitching in some garments and shoes. Click through to see what we saw backstage and on the runway.

BRITOMART FASHION SESSIONS

A couple of weekends ago we attended the Britomart Fashion Sessions, a series of public fashion shows organised by Britomart to showcase the designers who've set up shop in the precinct. We spent two days straight down at Britomart exploring all that it has to offer. Apart from the amazing retail spaces, we also tried out a couple of wonderful new restaurants including Ortolana, which saw us return time and time again. Click through to see what we got up to including runway pictures of some of our favourite New Zealand designers: Zambesi, World, Kathryn Wilson, Kate Sylvester, Taylor, Juliette Hogan, Trelise Cooper. SUE

Sue's simple white dress from Sisters was accessorized with some interesting pieces. Her thin belt and classic tortoiseshell sunglasses were by Kate Sylvester. Her necklace was sourced from France. The bag was by Saben and the shoes were from Briarwood.

QIAO

Qiao caught our eye one evening in this cool street look. The raw edges of her two-toned jumper and the wide cut of her denim skirt played a big part to the relaxed feel of this outfit. The skull necklace was from Kate Sylvester. Her boots had a rad wingtip toe cap that added a little something else.

K.M.

K.M. caught our eye in this gorgeous seafoam green dress by Kate Sylvester. The lattice trim on the neckline and cap sleeves coupled with the long row of little buttons added sophistication to this otherwise girly dress. The beautiful vintage leather shoes were a great choice with the outfit. The star necklace was from Tatty's. Her cute purse with the candy-like beading completed the look.
