Bronwyn is no stranger to the FOUREYES blog and is even featured in our recently released book in this outfit. We like how Bronwyn puts a look together in her own way and we like the different influences in this outfit, including a bit of rock, glam and sport. FOUREYES THE BOOK: THE COCKTAILS

For the FOUREYES book launch party last week we created a pair of cocktails using the incredible Black Robin Rare Gin and Blue Duck Rare Vodka, produced right here in New Zealand.

As you can imagine, we had a blast designing the cocktails and conducting all the necessary 'research' required. We came up with two summery and refreshing drinks. The FOUREYES Sweet | Sour, a strawberry and balsamic vodka-based cocktail, and the FOUREYES Cool | Hot, with gin, cool cucumber and spicy chilli.

The recipes are below for your drinking pleasure. Happy weekend.


FOUREYES SWEET | SOUR

30ml Blue Duck Rare Vodka
1 large strawberry
2 rounds cucumber
15ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
2.5ml balsamic vinegar
Soda
Basil

Muddle strawberry, cucumber, lemon juice, syrup and balsamic. Add vodka. Strain into a lowball filled with ice. Top with soda and garnish with basil.


FOUREYES COOL | HOT

30ml Black Robin Rare Gin
15ml ginger simple syrup
15ml lemon juice
1 split chilli
1 slice Cucumber
Soda

Fill a lowball with ice. Add gin, ginger syrup and lemon juice. Top with soda. Add cucumber and stir with chilli, leaving in as garnish.

FOUREYES THE BOOK: THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH PARTY

For the past few months we have been working on our biggest project to date and on Thursday night, we officially launched our new book FOUREYES: New Zealand Street Style at the Nathan Club in Britomart. 

We decided on a gallery style event where guests could walk around and look at some large prints that represented a few of our favourite images from the book and mingle to the music of our DJ Charlotte Ryan. It was great to see so many key fashion industry, family and friends attend.

We had some awesome sponsors that helped make the night a lot of fun. We served celebratory bubbles provided by Lanson Champagne, refreshing beer by Peroni, Otakiri water, cocktails that we designed ourselves using Blue Duck Vodka and Black Robin Gin (more on this later) and the classic Six Barrel Soda made from all natural ingredients in NZ, served in some really cute brown bottles. Bluebells Cakery created some delicious and beautiful treats which were very popular throughout the night.

FOUREYES THE BOOK

So, FOUREYES the book is getting VERY close! It's on track to be in stores by the beginning of next month and you can pre-order it here!

Deciding on the cover was one of the toughest challenges we faced while creating the book. How to distill 304 pages of street style into one hopefully eye-catching book cover? How could we single out just one person to be our cover girl or guy? The design went through many, many many iterations and practically every image in the book was considered for the cover. In the end, we decided we simply couldn't choose one. Here's what we came up with instead:

FOUREYES THE BOOK

The past couple of months have been insanely busy for us as we've plunged into work on creating FOUREYES the book (more on that here if you missed it). One of the hardest and most time-consuming jobs has been wading through the 4000+ images we've shot since FOUREYES began to choose the ones for the book. Then, trying to lay out those hundreds of photos to create some kind of logical order and flow. Our first draft topped 600 pages, a fact that was greeted by our publisher with blank stares followed by a categorical 'No'. So we went back to work. For days. And days.

Here are a few behind the scenes shots of the process along with a little video of one of our days' work (set to a cheery ragtime ditty, naturally). FOUREYES the book is on track to be out in stores by November this year! We'll keep you up to date.

FOUREYES THE BOOK

Beatnik, a book publishing company, approached us a little while back with an idea to do a book based on our blog. We were surprised to say the least but leapt at the amazing opportunity. The publishing deal is now signed, sealed and delivered and we've already begun the lengthy process of designing the book and its content. FOUREYES the book will be out before the end of the year! That's our blank canvas up above.
